Rosie Huntington-Whiteley is estimated to be one of the top five highest paid models in the world
Model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley has entered the world’s highest-paid models list for the first time, above the likes of Kate Moss and Cara Delevingne.
The Plymouth-born stunner, 29, has ranked in a tie fifth position with American model Gigi Hadid on the Top 20 list compiled by financial news giant, Forbes.
Her estimated earnings are believed to be 9 million dollars (around £6.8 million).
Forbes base their figures for those featured on the Top 20 list on income generated from cosmetic and fragrance businesses, as well as other contracts.
Huntington-Whiteley launched her Autograph lingerie range with M&S in 2012, and the range has since expanded to include a fragrance, sports wear and make-up.
She spoke to British fashion magazine, Vogue, earlier this year about launching the cosmetics range.
She said: “It would have been really boring to me not to have been involved. I love being a part of the process – I’m a real girl’s girl so it’s a dream come true. I’ve always loved make-up and I think modelling is the best job I could ever have had.”
She was also the face of the fragrance Burberry Body in 2011 and has launched an acting career, starring in the third Transformers movie as well as 2015’s Mad Max: Fury Road.
Brazilian model Gisele Bundchen has topped the list again this year, despite a 30% drop in earnings from 44 million dollars (£33.5 million) last year, to 30.5 million (around £22.8 million) this year, according to Forbes.
Kendall Jenner, the half-sister to reality TV star Kim Kardashian-West, has seen her earnings rise from 4 million dollars (£3 million) last year to 10 million dollars (£7.6 million) this year, landing her in tie third position with Victoria’s Secret model Karlie Kloss.
Delevingne recently starred in the action blockbuster Suicide Squad, alongside Hollywood heavyweights such as Will Smith. She is seventh on the list, with estimated earnings of 8.5 million dollars (£6.4 million).
Moss ranks in thirteenth position, tied with Alessandra Ambrosio and Doutzen Kroes, all with estimated earnings of five million dollars (£3.8 million) for the year, which is measured from June 2015 to June 2016.
